Curriculum

Our curriculum is constantly being monitored and designed to reflect the needs of the
children, not only in terms of knowledge and skills but also in enabling them to learn skills
and attitudes essential for a positive, happy life.

As a Church of England school, integrating values into our creative curriculum sits naturally
with our Mission and Vision statements. We promote an Article of the month and key values in weekly newsletters and in Collective Worship.

Through a Rights Respecting ethos, we aim to install in our children a belief in themselves, to
nurture their self esteem and, above all, to embrace their responsibility to respect the rights
of others. This in turn helps them to learn how to formulate, express and listen to opinions,
helping to raise achievement and self-confidence.

Children learn about their rights as identified in the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights
of the Child which are based on 45 Articles. They also learn they have responsibilities - a
responsibility to respect the rights of all others in their community.
